What is VR Realms?
Think VRChat-style social, but built on Unreal Engine 5.8 with full-body IK, a real Steam Workshop pipeline, and PC-VR-first quality. You spawn into a persistent hub, host any community map straight from a wrist menu, and any avatar uploaded to the Workshop becomes selectable in-game.
Persistent Hub
Always-on social space hosted on dedicated servers. Land here, find people, party up, and roll out to any community world together.
Host a Map
Wrist menu → Workshop browser → pick a map → host. Friends join via Steam or invite. Host migration so your session doesn't die when you do.
Bring Your Avatar
Subscribe to a Workshop avatar in Steam, equip it in-game, full-body IK driven by VR Realms' avatar system. Your choice is saved across sessions.
Cross-Play
VR and desktop players in the same room. Friends without VR can hop in on flatscreen.
Spatial Voice
Built-in proximity voice in both the hub and community sessions. Toggle from the wrist menu.
Free
Free to play. Monetization through cosmetics later — never gating Workshop content or worlds.

Make worlds. Make avatars.
VR Realms is built around Workshop content. Anything you upload — a map, an avatar — becomes playable in-game for everyone. Here's how to start.
Build it in UE 5.8
Maps: light a level, drop a PlayerStart. Avatars: import any character rigged to a standard Mannequin skeleton — extra bones and all. Create anywhere in the project; the kit organizes it for you.
