Features
The hub
The hub is where everyone starts. It is a shared space that is always open, which makes it the easiest place to find people, see what is on this week and pick up a few head plates while you are there.
Getting there
Open the menu and choose Join the Main HUB. You will see Traveling to HUB while it loads. Everyone starts in USA East. When it gets busy, USA East 2 and USA West show up in the menu and you can pick one; Playing with friends explains how.
The Join button shows how many people are in your chosen hub right now, so you can tell at a glance whether anyone is around. When the hub is empty it simply shows no number.
Your home map is not the hub. It is your own space, and the portal there takes you straight to the hub.
If the hub cannot be reached you will get a message saying it may be restarting. Give it a minute and try again.
Events
We run community events in the hub and in worlds made by players. There are three places to see what is coming up:
- the Events page on this website
- the Events tab under Notifications in the menu, which shows LIVE NOW while something is on
- the Upcoming Events board in the hub
In the game, event times are shown in your own local time, so there is nothing to convert.
The event countdown ticks down the days, hours, minutes and seconds, and switches to LIVE NOW the moment an event starts. When the event takes place in a world, a Join button appears on it while the event is live, and pressing it takes you there.
Some events come with an exclusive head plate. While that event is live, every head plate floating in the hub turns into it, so the event is the only time you can find one.
Head plates
A head plate is the artwork behind your name above your head. They float around the hub for anyone to grab. Walk into one and it is yours, and a message tells you when it lands in your collection.
The plates on offer change every so often, and the ones you already own are hidden from you, so there is usually something new to look for. Every plate you find stays yours for good.
Wearing one
Open the menu and go to Supporter. Everything you have found is listed under Collected Head Plates.
- Everyone can wear one plate for free. Choose carefully, because you cannot swap it for a different one later. You can still take it off and put it back on.
- Supporters can wear any plate they have found and change it whenever they like.
Choose Wear no plate to take yours off. Some plates are animated and keep moving above your head while you play.
Chat commands
| Type this | What it does |
|---|---|
/plate | How many plates you have found and which one you are wearing |
/plate list | Every plate in the game, with the ones you own ticked |
/plate sprite | Just the animated plates |
Plates can only be found in the world, so asking for one by name will not work.
Discord
The hub also keeps our Discord in the loop:
- When people gather in the hub, a message in the community chat says how many are there, so friends can see it is worth jumping in.
- An hour before every event, and again when it starts, a reminder goes out in the announcements channel.
- Every new post on the Updates page is shared in the updates channel.
When a hub restarts
We restart the hubs now and then to put out updates, and you will never be dropped without warning. A message pops up and appears in chat as soon as a restart is planned, and again with 15, 10, 5 and 1 minutes to go. If the restart gets called off, you are told that too.
Staying off the boards
If you would rather not appear on the hub leaderboards, there is a setting that keeps your name off them. Your playtime and creator hours still count. Gold and leaderboards covers what each board ranks.
