Sending a log
When something breaks, a log turns "it crashed" into a fixable report. Here is where VR Realms keeps its files and which one to send.
If the game crashed
Send the crash folder rather than the log. It carries the exact point of failure, which a log on its own usually does not.
Press Win + R, paste this and press Enter:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\VRRealms\Saved\Crashes
Open the newest folder in there, zip it, and drop it in Discord. On the beta branch, look for Saved\Crashes inside the game folder instead. See below for how to find it.
If the game misbehaved but did not crash
Send the log. Which folder it lives in depends on which branch you play.
Public branch
Press Win + R, paste this and press Enter:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\VRRealms\Saved\Logs
Beta branch
In Steam, right-click VR Realms and choose Manage → Browse local files, then open VRRealms\Saved\Logs.
Either way, take the newest file in the folder and drag it into Discord.
Send it the moment it happens
The log is rewritten every time you launch, and older ones are eventually cleaned up. If you play another session before sending, the evidence is usually gone. Grab the file first, then carry on playing.
What is in a log
Which worlds and avatars you loaded, who was in the session with you, your Steam ID, connection and voice-chat activity, and any errors the game ran into. There are no passwords or payment details in it. If you would rather not post it publicly, send it to a moderator in a direct message instead of the channel.
Where to send it
Discord is fastest. If it is about a world or an avatar rather than the game itself, the in-game Report button on the card sends it straight to us with the item already identified.
