Game Modes
Devices & channels
Almost everything starts with BP_VRItemMarker → Details → VR Realms → Game device. Scoring zones use a Trigger Box (needs volume).

The four devices
| Device | What it does |
|---|---|
| Scoring zone | Fires when a player or object enters. Points, or zero for pure trigger. Goals, volleyball floor, race checkpoints. |
| Ball home | Where a ball returns to when its channel fires, stopped dead and ready to grab. |
| Round rules | What it takes to win: score, clock, teams. One per map. |
| Scoreboard | Live board. Place as many as you like. |
Channels
Every device can announce a name when it fires; others react to that name (Ball, RedGoal, LapDone…). One announcement, any number of reactions. Spell it the same on both ends. The build check warns if a reaction has no announcer.
Scoring zone rows
- Points: awarded on enter; negative for own-goal/hazard; zero = pure trigger
- Scores for: who gets points when a ball trips it (balls have no team). Players always score for themselves.
- Only once, ever: for one-time events
- Cooldown: leave at 0 so it re-arms when the tripping actor leaves
- Announce as: the channel name
Hittable balls
Grabbable = pick up and throw only. Hands don’t shove physics by default (that would knock over every prop). Tick Can be hit (VRHit) so swings spike/punch. Hit power 1 = normal; 2 = twice as far. Also set Mobility Movable and Simulate Physics.
Stack Grabbable + Can be hit + Returns to a home for volleyball serve + rally.
